The only intelligible words I could make out were girl, environment, space, radiation. By then the editor had fallen into a stupor and I made off with the rest of the beer.

This morning I woke up feeling like the rocky underside of gravel. After squinting for a good while and then tazering my left arm I managed to press ‘upload’.

 

Warren Ellis’ briefing:

You have to design a character called SUPERGIRL. But, in true Remake/Remodel fashion, you’ve been given only limited information by your insane/stoned bosses. The following is literally all you know:

Alien girl from a sealed city that survived the destruction of its home planet is sent to Earth in a rocket, where the environment gives her special abilities. She’s sent to Earth in a rocket because everyone in the space city is dying of radioactivity. She lands on earth, fakes her way into an orphanage, gets into college, and then starts operating on the side as “Supergirl.”You’re well aware that the following has been read off Wikipedia to you by a drunk who’s getting maybe one paragraph in three and skipping the long words.

BUT YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL.And that’s all you’ve got. Extrapolate and design from that.
