plot twist: yahoo buys tumblr and we get proper blocking features, lockable posts, a sent folder in messages/fanmail with a better interface, ability to search multiple tags, removes the post and message limits, proper search engines for likes/archives and removing that bloody "reblog as a link" option.

This is a fiberglass bird creature mask I made for an independent short film by Dorian Cleavenger called, ”The Companion.” After everything was finished, molded and fiberglassed, I had to adjust the “helmet” to fit more as a mask, so I cut the back half off, sanded down the edges and refit the mask on my head, it ended up working out well and gave me more room to breathe.

So, I paint my nails pretty regularly these days. I also work as a barista/cashier pretty regularly these days. A few weeks back, I had a customer come in, a fairly typical, sheltered, suburban soccer mom, and she ordered a latte from me. She saw my brightly colored nails and said, “Wow, you’re so brave! My son asked me about painting his nails, and if it’s okay for boys to do that. Now I’ll tell him there’s a cool guy who does it too!” It was a nice moment, very cute.

Then, last week, she came in again, and said, “Hey, I’m so glad you’re here! I want you to meet someone!” She then brings her son forward, and says, “Okay sweetie, show him what you did!” And he throws his hands up, showing off his bright, sparkling blue nails. He shows them off, and I show mine off to him. He smiles. We fist bump.

Guys, I’ve only wanted to cry once at work before, and that was when someone ordered a large dry soy cappuccino on ice.

This time, though. This was a good cry.

I’m really glad I found this blog oh gosh you’re like a godsend

I really struggle with figuring out how to draw armor, this was my first mock up of a character that has a more or less important role in act one of a webcomic I’m working on. She’s a general, and I’m more or less trying to pin down something more or less pretty basic in terms of her armor. She’s only going to be shown in armor a few times. (I’ve included her more prominent outfit. The king’s color is royal purple.)

This is already a few months old, and absolutely atrocious now that I’m looking at it again (the pauldron and cuirass and wow everything)…especially now that I need to start actually working on her because she’s going to be showing up in pages soon.

Could you maybe steer me in the right direction for something that’s not ungodly boring to look at? (and feasible?)

I’d gladly take any suggestions on the other outfit, too.

I’m sorry if this is a question you get asked regularly, and feel free to ignore this if it is (sorry omgf) I was just wondering how you do the block-y type colouring? like how you have the digital art but it doesnt look like it has lineart sorta? oh gosh im so bad at asking sorry bleh. i really super mega like your art btw!

here’s the process for my lineless art! i basically just make three different layers and silhouette the basic shapes on those - one for the body, one for stuff under the body, and one for stuff over the body (clothes, hair, etc). then i lock transparency on all the layers and add color!

How to line-art without using lines/blocking in shapes & colours. Great tutorial gif ^^ thank you!
