3 traingirls today.. the first was a really quick sketch, about two minutes, just before the train rolled into Utrecht central station (Pitt Artist Pen S). I added the inkwash in the next train. the second one was in the next train between Amsterdam Amstel and Amsterdam central station (Copic Multiliner SP 035mm), inkwash done during lunch at Kantjil & de Tijger. final one was done on the way back from Amsterdam to Utrecht (again, Copic Multiliner). highly embarrassing, the woman in question was drawing herself, so she wanted to see how I drew her, but well, she didn’t really look much like the drawing (for one thing, she hardly looks asian in my drawing. hey, I’ve never said they are all great likenesses…). She must have liked as she asked if she could take a picture of it.. or she posted it to Facebook, complaining about the crappy drawing some guy on the train made of her..

all of the drawings were done in a Derwent Safari sketchbook and inkwashed with warm grey Ecoline.

So Motor City ComiCon was last weekend and I had a good time at the show. The folks who put it on bent over backwards and really treated us right.

I met tons of great fans and fellow creators. Got to see my art rep -who is one of the nicest people I know. I enjoyed a really awkward moment with Edward James Olmos where, for a brief moment, we both thought we knew each other, and then I realized that he was just an actor, and he realized that I was just a guy in an interesting bowtie. We laughed. Awkwardly.
